Slow Stitching Workshop - Coming SoonInk & Spindle
Slow Stitching - we will explore how we can not only make beautiful pieces of work using up-cycled fabrics, but really think about how we can minimise our purchases of new fabrics and craft materials.
Using up-cycled pieces of cloth, clothing or other textiles explore this slow stitching process. We will explore texture, stitch and colour to create new old-look textile pieces, which could be a pouch, a book cover, a bag or even an item of clothing.
Slow stitching has been used in many cultures such as the Japanese Boro, Indian Kantha, hand stitched quilts, mending clothes and many countries that have a history of hand-stitching traditions. We are now connecting with these old traditions to create beautiful works.
